Deputies arrested a Lake Waccamaw man for larceny and drug possession after he allegedly took snacks and glue from a Dollar General store – and had narcotics on the ATV he was riding.

Jeffery Scott Coleman, 48, of 938 Jefferson Street, was held under a $5,000 secured bond. He was charged with possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, simple possession of narcotics, and misdemeanor larceny, according to detention center reports.

Coleman went to the Dollar General store near Brunswick around 8 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff’s office reported, and took Superglue, nasal spray, three packages of Fruit by the Foot candy, a package of cable ties, and two beef sticks without paying. Deputies found him at the store on a Honda rancher four-wheeler.

While he was being arrested, deputies found eight doses of buprenorphine and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, along with a glass smoking pipe. The ATV was towed.
