Whiteville City School Board chair Kandle Rogers has been charged with assault.
Rogers was served with a summons today (Friday) after an incident that occurred during Thursday’s flooding.
Rogers is alleged to have grabbed a Whiteville city worker who was placing barricades on Madison Street to block traffic while waters were rising about three blocks down from Rogers’ restaurant and on the block behind the restaurant.
The employee, Nishan Pridgen, was scratched on the left arm. He obtained the warrant from a magistrate.
