Vernon Thomas Beck, age 69, passed away at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Vernon was born on July 22, 1954 in Wilmington, NC to the late Thomas Sterling Beck and Bonnie Moore Beck.
Vernon had recently retired from International Paper where he worked in maintenance for 49 1/2 years. He loved working in the yard, going deer and coon hunting and working with his eight horses.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Donna O’Neal Beck, his daughter; Amber Wilkins (Travis) and son; Scott Beck both of Delco, two brothers; Dale Beck (Suzanne) of Watha, NC and Eddie Beck (Rhonda) both of Delco, one sister; Lisa Hyatt (Joey) also of Delco, three grandchildren; Haily Bordeaux (Jake), Trae Wilkins, and Jerome Beck, and two great grandchildren; Carter Bordeaux and Asher Bordeaux.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm at New Life Church, 107 Maultsby Street, Whiteville, NC with Rev. Charles Cribb officiating. Burial will follow in Delco Cemetery, Delco, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm prior to the service.
