No one was injured but a Hallsboro man was left homeless Monday night after a singlewide trailer burned on Pierce Cemetery Road.

Dep. Fire Marshal Jonathan Juhl said Curtis Wright was not home when the fire started. The cause is undetermined at this time.

“No people were injured and no animals died,” Juhl said, “but it’s still tragic that someone lost his home.”

The trailer was located near the graveyard on Pierce Cemetery. Friends said Wright spent the night in a storage building on the property.

Hallsboro firefighters were assisted by crews and equipment from Lake Waccamaw, Old Dock, and White Marsh-Welches Creek, along with Lake Waccamaw rescue and the Fire Marshal’s Office.

Laura Norton is collecting donations for Wright. She can be contacted on the Everything Hallsboro Facebook page or at Sam’s Pit Stop in Hallsboro. Wright needs pants in size 48 and shirts in 4-5 XL.
