Parole and Probation Violators Caught in Sweep

A multi-agency sweep led by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office resulted in multiple arrests and changes last week.

Sheriff W.A. “Bill” Rogers said in a press release that the CCSO, N.C. Community Supervision, U.S. Homeland Security, ATF and U.S. Marshals hit a total of 59 residences on March 18-19. Four absconders were captured, 28 offenders were caught at home, and seven firearms seized.

Agents and deputies also made 11 felony arrests, 16 arrests for post-release violations,  and served multiple outstanding warrants and orders for arrest.

Those arrested and their charges include:

Edward Bellamy- probation violation for possessions of cocaine. New charges include possession with intent to sell marijuana, cocaine and opiates; Maintain vehicle/dwelling place for drug activities.

 Rushia Riggins- probation violation for possession of firearm by felon. Riggins was also charged with a new count of possession of firearm by felon.

Justin McPherson- probation violation for possession of firearm by felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of controlled substance. His new charges include  possession of methamphetamine and heroin; maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for drug activity; simple possess schedule opiates; and possession of firearm by felon.

Brice Pridgen- probation violation for possession of marijuana and pending charge for same. He was also charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana.

Eustance Hunter- probation violation for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. He also faces new charges of simple possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

David Smith- probation violation for possession of firearm by felon, and a new charge of possession of firearm by felon.

Ryan Jacobs- probation violation for possession of cocaine, along with a new charge of felony possession of cocaine.

Johnie Hall- probation violation for possession of a firearm. The CCSO said this was a misdemeanor case, but Hall is not allowed to possess a firearm while on supervision.

James Adam Brown- two counts of probation violation for possession of a firearm; possession of controlled substance, and a new charge of   possession of firearm by felon.

Forest Doughtie- probation violation for possession of controlled substance. He was also charged with a new count of possession of methamphetamines.

Ashley Allen- probation violation for possession of controlled substance, and a new charge of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin.

Jason Cumbee- probation violation for possession of controlled substance.

 Also, two suspects were arrested in cases that did not involve probation and parole. Tempest Watts was charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana.

David Warren Jr. faces one count of possession of firearm by felon.

Authorities also picked up three absconders – Kasey Watts, Tyiah Pence, and Joe Formyduval. Brian Sellers was also wanted for absconding, and turned himself in at the sheriff’s office.
