$10,000 Said Stolen After Fight

An argument reportedly led to a fight and the disappearance of $10,000 early Friday.

Whiteville Police were called to Walmart at Columbus Corners a few minutes after midnight, according to reports. Darrion Katerral Foxworth, 20, told officers he and another male were arguing when the fight became physical.

“One left the area,” Sgt. Scott Moody said, “and the other party found his wallet missing.”

The victim told police that his friends saw his wallet fall during the fight, and the second party took the wallet, which contained $10,000. None of the witnesses would cooperate with law enforcement, Moody said.

The case is under investigation.
