Mrs. Letha Mae Norris James, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Born on August 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Leon Norris and the late Jenny Lee Spivey Norris.
Mrs. James is survived by her four sons, Teinne James (Pamela) of Whiteville, NC, Gleon James (Rochelle) of Whiteville, NC, Lewis D. James of California, and Ryan James (Tracy) of Welcome, NC; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild on the way; and seven siblings, Elbert Norris of Lexington, NC, Terry Norris of California, Michael Norris of Lexington, NC, Pam Morris of Wilmington, NC, Ila Jane Boswell of Whiteville, NC, Vanessa Joye of Wilmington, NC, and Geraldine Simmons of Lexington, NC.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, William “Shorty” Clayton James; son, William Leonard James; and two brothers, Ray Norris and Gary Norris.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Coleman Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service in the chapel. A service of Inman Ward Funeral Home & Crematory of Tabor City.
