Bullets on the ground

A Whiteville youth previously convicted of firing into a home is facing new felonies.

Notorious D. Taylor, 17, of 402 W. Lewis St., Whiteville, has been charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for drug activities, possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a firearm by a felon, and manufacture, sale, distribution or possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school. His bond information was not available.

Warrants show that on April 10, Taylor is alleged to have had three grams of cocaine for sale at his home, which is a short distance from Central Middle School. He was allegedly in possession of a modified Smith and Wesson .22 caliber rifle and a handgun at the time.

Court documents show that Taylor was convicted of attempting to discharge a firearm into occupied property on Nov. 13, 2023. He was sentenced to 25 to 42 months in prison.
