Jeffery Clark Powell, age 71, of Whiteville, NC, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Jeffery was born in Columbus County on August 18, 1952 to the late Joseph Ralton Powell and Estelle McKeel Powell.
Jeffery worked at Dupont for 35 years and with the Department of Corrections for a little over 6 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Sherry Small Powell of the home, two sons; Eric Jerome Powell of Lumberton and Jeremy Clark Powell (Felicia) of Whiteville, two brothers; Joseph Allen Powell (Catherin) of Angier, NC and Julian Preston Powell of Devine, TX, grandson; Seth Lee Bordeaux and grand daughter; Rachel Powell.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Swain officiating. Burial will follow at Flynn Cemetery.
McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson Street, Whiteville, NC is serving the Powell family.
