Dewey “Laverne” Redd, 67, of Cerro Gordo, passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
Laverne was born in Savannah, GA to Eulice Clifford Redd and Mildred Waddell Redd Cummings. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday June 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Moore and Pastor Rusty Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel.
Laverne was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Tarheels; he was also very active in Columbus County Youth Sports.
Laverne is survived by his mother, Mildred of Fayetteville; children, Chadwick Redd (Dana) of Whiteville and Stephen Redd (Chrissie) of Coats; and a brother, Joseph Redd of Raleigh.
