A Farmers Union man is dead and another is recovering after they apparently shot each other Saturday night in Farmers Union.

Harry Hardie Jr., 37, was dead on the scene when deputies arrived at 126 Timber Creek Trail just before 10 p.m., according to the report by Sgt. J. Dicicco. Anthony Lee Jr., 31, was transported to an area hospital.

Deputies were called to a report of a shooting with one person possibly deceased at 9:57 p.m., the report said. Hardie was laying prone in the driveway of the home, and Lee was nearby. Deputy Dehne provided first aid for Lee, the report said, while Dicicco secured two firearms. The report noted a large crowd that included children was gathering. The firearms were taken as evidence. Detectives Sawhill and Cartrette are investigating.

In another shooting incident in the same area, Blaire Locklear called 911 Saturday morning after discovering two bulletholes in her home and one in a Toyota SUV parked in a carport. That shooting occurred on Curn Spaulding Road, and is under investigation.
