Daniel Thomas Norton, age 79, of Whiteville, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at his home on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Daniel was born in Columbus County on December 17, 1945 to the late Clayton Norton and Jamie Roscoe Norton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Brenda Smith Norton.
Daniel served his country honorably in the United States Army for 10 years. He then worked as a mechanic for the North Carolina State Forestry.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Maria Norton Elliott (David) of Whiteville, Joyce Norton Steele of Sanford, NC, Angela Norton Reaves (Bart) of Wilmington, NC, Kimberly Norton Walton (Jonathan) of Hallsboro, NC and Andrea Norton of Greensboro, NC, one brother; Jimmy Norton of Jacksonville, FL, 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
