Mrs. Early Mae Gowans 76, of Whiteville, NC gave the Lord her hand on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC and entered into eternity. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Earl Dayton Nealy, Sr., Ms. Mary Elizabeth Thomas, and Mrs. Eva Mae Nealy of Clarendon, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Gowans will be conducted on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the Brunswick Waccamaw Baptist Association Headquarters, 600 Pine Log Road, Whiteville, NC with Pastor James Scott eulogizing. Burial will follow in the Todd Cemetery, Clarendon, NC.
Mrs. Gowans is survived by her children: Kathy S. Gowans, Mary E. Gowans, and Janis Gowans, brothers: Earl Nealy, Jr., Jerry McKinnies, Jimmy Nealy, Rocky Nealy, and James Nealy, sisters: Barbara Dobbins, Belinda Simmonds, Phyllis Nealy, and Marilyn Graham, a host of grandchildren, great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2 to 5 pm in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, and again on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, one hour prior to the services at the Headquarters.
Friends may visit the family at the home of Ms. Nicole Gowans, located at 420 West Columbus Street, Whiteville, NC.
