Gerald Dan Meshaw, age 76, of Clarkton, NC, passed away at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC, on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Dan was born on November 8, 1949 to the late Perry Meshaw and Kathryn Nye Meshaw in Robeson County.
Dan was a graduate of Clarkton High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was the owner/operator of Meshaw Equipment Company and the Fayetteville Motorsports Park Speedway. He met regularly with the “Liar’s Club” at Sue’s Diner. Dan also served at one time as Mayor of Clarkton.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years; Patricia Clark Meshaw of the home, daughter; Sarah Kathryn Meshaw of Clarkton, son; Perry Clark Meshaw also of Clarkton, sisters; Kay M. Barr (Charles) of Greensboro and Ann M. Donnelly of Hillsborough, brother; Jack Meshaw of Dunn, sister in law; Rebecca Clark Jacobs of North Myrtle Beach, SC, several nieces and nephews and his beloved Carolina Hound; Ruby.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Council, NC, with Rev. Barrett Ingram officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarkton Presbyterian Church, 10433 N. College Street, Clarkton, NC 28433.
