The Highway Patrol charged a woman with child abuse and other counts after an Aug. 6 crash on U.S. 76.
Crystal Gayle Strickland, 46, was released on a $500 secured bond, according to detention center reports. She was charged with driving while impaired, misdemeanor child abuse, reckless driving, a lane violation, and speeding. Court records show addresses of 5999 Princess Ann Rd., Evergreen, and Marion, S.C.
Warrants show that Strickland allegedly crossed the center lane on U.S. 76 and collided with another car at 70 miles per hour. A child in the back of the car was injured in the wreck. Strickland’s vehicle went off the road and crashed.
