An infant was transported to hospital after ingesting narcotics, and a woman has been charged in the case.
Andrea Jane Millender, 20, of 41 Oleander Dr., Whiteville, was placed under $50,000 secured bond on a single charge of exposing a child to controlled substance, resulting in ingestion, detention center records show.
Warrants show that on Aug. 27, Millender allegedly allowed a year-old baby to ingest Subutex, a prescription drug used to combat opioid addiction. A deputy was called to the home on Oleander Drive Thursday at 5:13 p.m.
