Two shootings are under investigation after gunfire rang out in Columbus and Bladen counties on Halloween.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Acme Delco Riegelwood Fire-Rescue Saturday when a female gunshot victim arrived at the station just before 6 a.m.
The woman, Maliyah Dale, told deputies she was shot while attending a party at River Ratz, an event venue and game room on N.C. 11 in Kelly, just a few miles across the county line. Crime scene investigators were at the venue Sunday.
In an unrelated incident, the State Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist after a fight at a party near Fair Bluff just after midnight Saturday morning. Two victims were reported hit after an altercation turned into a shootout involving multiple gunmen. The parties involved ranged in age from 33 to 70, according to a report. No additional details were immediately available.
