Charges are pending after a fight on social media boiled over into the Taco Bell drive thru in Whiteville Saturday.
Whiteville Police said warrants have been issued for a suspect, who has not been taken into custody.
A report said that Michael Eugene Lennon, 30, was working at the drive thru when the suspect went to the restaurant shortly before 4 p.m. He is alleged to have stopped his vehicle, and backed up when he realized Lennon was working, Lt. Scott Moody said.
The suspect then went to the window and allegedly began assaulting Lennon through the window, Moody said, causing a laceration on his head that is likely to leave a scar. The suspect then fled the scene.
Lennon was treated at the scene by EMS but refused to be transported to the hospital.
The fight was the result of an ongoing squabble on social media, Moody said. The suspect is still sought by police on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation is continuing.
