BLADENBORO—River Scott had a home run to go with his other two hits to lead Whiteville National claimed the District 2 Diamond Youth Coach Pitch Tournament with a 11-1 victory over Whiteville Silver on Sunday at McLean Park.
The win secured the undefeated national team a spot in District 1 State Tournament to be played later in the month. Avery Trosterud added a hit in the victory for Whiteville National.
Bladen County won the Sportsmanship Award for its excellence in sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
