Here’s today’s Bottom Line

The “heat dome” high pressure ridge has weakened and shifted somewhat offshore. While temperatures for the first half of the week will be slightly “cooler,” they’re still going to be running above normal. Humidity will also be notably increased, keeping heat index values above the Misery Mark.

Thunderstorm chances will be in place this afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, similar to what some of us received Sunday afternoon.

The high pressure ridge reasserts control for the second half of the week and temps could once again crack the 100-degree mark with advisory-level heat index values.

It’s not just here, either. Portions of Alaska … NORTH of the Arctic circle… have heat advisories up for today. That’s crazy.
