A bulldog is recovering from injuries after being was missing for a week, then being found with a gunshot wound.
Deputies were called to Georgia-Pacific Road July 17 to investigate an animal cruelty report. The owner of the dog told investigators that the dog had been gone approximately a week. The owner was searching for the animal in a wooded area when the dog was located, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The dog was taken to an area veterinarian for treatment. The dog’s condition was not immediately available.
The report said who shot the dog and why are not known. The case is under investigation.
