The suspect in a 2025 shooting has been arrested 51 weeks later.
Michaaveeis Donnevick Brown, 33, of 16 RL McKoy Dr., Whiteville, is being held under no bond, charged with a parole violation, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to detention center records.
Brown was previously arrested and pleaded guilty to second degree burglary, and was sentenced to 15-27 months in prison.
Whiteville Police said officers were called to 316 Burkhead Street around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2025. They found evidence of a shooting and were told Marcus Faulk had been transported by private vehicle to Columbus Regional, the report said. He was later transported to Novant New Hanover with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
