What came in as a medical call to 911 turned out to be much more.
The sheriff’s office reported that a deputy went to assist a man who a third party said was having a medical problem just after midnight Wednesday morning, according to a report. The victim was unable to breathe, the caller told dispatchers, and was suffering from COPD and other ailments.
When the deputy arrived at the home on Larry Drive and began administering aid, it turned out the man had far more than COPD.
From the man’s pockets, the deputy recovered about eight grams of crack cocaine, 2.89 grams of meth, powdered cocaine, a “dark powder” substance, four filled syringes, 117 grams of marijuana and multiple pills, including 171 codeine pills.
The man was transported to an area hospital, where it was determined he had drugs in his system from earlier that evening, according to the report.
Charges are pending in the case.
