Four firearms and drugs were recently confiscated thanks to the sharp nose of a Sheriff’s Office canine.

Jerold Long (CCSO)

Jeroid Long, 33, of Riegelwood was held under $8,500 secured bond after a traffic stop March 11, the sheriff’s office reported. He was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, marijuana and Suboxone; maintaining a vehicle for drug activities; paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed firearm.

The sheriff’s office reported that deputies on patrol on Hallsboro Road North stopped Long for a traffic violation. K9 Gunny was deployed on the 1983 Chevrolet Caprice, and Gunny alerted on the passenger area of the car.

Deputies found two rifles, a shotgun and a handgun, along with 6.5 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of marijuana, and a quantity of Suboxone, a synthetic narcotic.

Among the contraband discovered by Gunny were these firearms and drugs (CCSO photo).
