A former teacher at Columbus Charter School is in jail under $250,000 secured bond, three counts of indecent liberties with a student.

Scott Dale Todd, 29, was dismissed from the school Nov. 1 after the child’s parents and investigators contacted school officials.
Todd taught seventh grade and physical education at the charter school, and drove a bus. The alleged crimes occurred in his capacity as a coach, according to warrants.
He was taken into custody at 2:56 p.m. Nov. 15, according to detention center records.
A number of parents complained that Todd’s name was not immediately released when he was dismissed. The school did not initially make his name public due to personnel laws, and the sheriff’s office does not release the names of suspects until they have been arrested.
Warrants show Todd’s address as 803 Porterville School Rd., Clarkton.
No additional information has been released on the case. This is a developing story.
