Chadbourn Police charged a man with pretending to be a police officer and telling another man to leave a domestic dispute May 28.
Warrants show that Shannon Dewayne Spaulding, 33, of 110 Hudson Dr., Whiteville, was released on a $1,000 bond on the single charge of misdemeanor impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Spaulding allegedly told displayed a security guard badge and was wearing a handgun when he ordered Timothy Ruppe “that he needed to leave the scene of a domestic due to the fact that he was an officer/security guard,” the warrant states.
Chief Ken Elliot of Chadbourn Police said the investigation into the case is continuing.
