One man has been jailed after allegedly firing 14 shots at a home in Saint James Tuesday.
Jesse James Arp, 40, was held without bond. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm, and felony possession of cocaine, detention records show. His address was listed as 4350 Pocosin Road.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday deputies were dispatched to 4354 Pocosin Road to a shots fired call. Donna Freeman told investigators that her children told her Arp was in the yard of the property. Freeman confronted Arp and told him to leave, and as he did, Arp fired 14 shots at the home. Two rounds struck the home, and no injuries were reported.
Seven people were inside the home when Arp opened fire, the report said.
It was not the first time Arp has allegedly assaulted Freeman.
Arp was arrested in October after he allegedly went to Freeman’s residence and assaulted her. She sustained a head injury in that case, according to the report. Arp barricaded himself in the residence and the rest of the family was able to escape. The responding deputy called for backup, and while a warrant was being obtained, Arp was taken into custody with no further incident, the report said.
