March 28, 1949 ~ July 7, 2024 (age 75)
Dewey Devon Ward, 75, of Whiteville, entered into his eternal home on Sunday, July 7, 2024, while in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare “Angel House” in Whiteville.
Dewey was the son of the late Daniel Frazier Ward and Mattie Mae Simmons Ward. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Rudolph Ward, Norman Ward, Troy Ward, Charles Ward, Kathleen Weatherford, Edwin Ward (infant), Mary Jane Powell, Betty Jo Dallas, Eugene Ward and J. Daniel “Pete” Ward.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Worthington Funeral Home, burial will follow in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Lester C. Holcomb, Jr. will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
Dewey leaves behind his wife of 55 Years, Rhonda Kay Ward of the home; three children; Angela W. Ransom (Darian) of Whiteville, Aaron Scott Ward (Rachel) of Shallotte and Stephen Brian Ward (Destinie) of Whiteville; eleven grandchildren, Conner Ward (Katie), Isaac Ward, Drake Ward, Matthew Ransom, Benjamin Ransom, Rebekah Ransom, Joseph Ward, Evan Ward, Annabeth Ward, Joshua Ward and Mavis Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dewey Devon Ward Building Construction Technology Scholarship Fund, c/o Southeastern Community College- PO Box 151 Whiteville, NC 28472.
