A suspect fleeing a child support warrant faces multiple charges pending after allegedly striking a patrol vehicle Tuesday.
Shikei Daniels, 27, of 127 E. Third Ave., Chadbourn, was held under $4,000 secured bond. Detention records show he was charged with feeling to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, assault on an officer, and nonpayment of child support.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies were trying to serve a child support warrant on Daniels at 5833 Ten Mile Road when he fled out the back door of the residence. Deputies observed Daniels driving a Ford Expedition a short time later and attempted a traffic stop.
Daniels fled at a high rate of speed, the report said, running multiple stop signs and almost hitting another vehicle. He then turned into Jake Godwin’s Mobile Home Park, and continued trying to evade deputies. When he pulled back onto the highway, Daniels’ Expedition struck a patrol vehicle.
Daniels jumped from the vehicle but was chased down by Lt. Floyd of the sheriff’s office.
Daniels reportedly refused medical treatment, but was checked by the nurse at the detention center.
