Every fundraiser should have a special incentive, and both Chief Yergeau and Nurse Cassie are being good sports about this one. If $2,000 is raised, the fire chief will dye his infamous handlebar mustache purple for cancer survivors, and if $2,500 is raised, Yergeau will cut Nurse Cassie’s hair to donate to have a wig made for cancer patients.
The charity event will run from June 1-26. The fire department’s address is 120 East Columbus Street in Whiteville.
