Residents of flood-prone areas in Columbus are invited to attend a meeting Aug. 4 to offer suggestions about watershed improvements in the area.
Columbus Soil and Water Conservation, Cape Fear Resource Conservation and Development, and Moffat and Nichol Engineers will host the meeting in the county commissioners chambers, 127 W. Webster St., Whiteville from 5:30-7 p.m.
Officials hope to develop a Watershed Drainage Management Plan that will identify flooding problems, causes, and possible remedies.
Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input on the project, which is being paid for through a federal BRIC Grant.
