A Whiteville Wolfpack football player has been identified as the victim of a hit and run in Bladen County.
King Amaru Mark Taylor was walking in the eastbound lane of N.C. 211 when he was struck by an unknown driver, according to the Highway Patrol. Taylor, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The youth was struck between Elwell Ferry Road and the Columbus County line.
The Highway Patrol said that the driver has not been identified. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 910.642.7169 or *HP on a cellular phone.
