Hickman Not Guilty in Child Sex Case

A Clarkton area man charged with abusing a girl was acquitted on all charges in Columbus County Superior Court.

Christopher Bryson Hickman was found not guilty in a jury trial in Superior Court. Testimony began Monday, and the jury returned its verdict today (Aug. 5).

Superior Court Judge Thomas Lock presided over the case. Hickman was defended by William Gore Jr. Jason Minnicozi and Heather Payne Brittan prosecuted the case for the state.

Hickman was charged with statutory rape, statutory sex offense, and indecent liberties in December 2023.
