The suspect in an attempted murder in South Carolina was located by Columbus County Deputies in eight minutes Monday.
Anthony Wade Lamb, 32, of Timmonsville, S.C., was arrested at a home near Tabor City, according to Chief Deputy Aaron Herring of the sheriff’s office. He was charged here with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, and altering the serial number of a firearm. His bond here was set at $250,000 secured. He also faces a charge of attempted murder in Florence County, S.C.
A BOLO issued in South Carolina and broadcast by Columbus County on Monday for Lamb said that he had ties to the Tabor City area, Herring said. Deputies and detectives were quickly able to connect Lamb to an address on Carolina Road.
Deputies who were in the area went to the home and found Lamb in the automobile in the driveway. He complied with instructions by officers and was taken into custody, Herring said.
Lamb allegedly had the stolen firearm in his possession in the vehicle. The serial number had been altered, Herring said.
From the time of the BOLO until deputies found Lamb, eight minutes had elapsed, Herring said in a press release.
Sheriff Jody Greene praised his deputies for “being proactive,” and said a combination of training experience and tools for the job made the quick arrest possible.
