One person is dead after a single vehicle crash on U.S. 74 this morning (Monday).
Whiteville Police Chief Paul Rockenbach said the driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The wreck occurred near Exit 242 between 10:30-11 a.m., the chief said. The driver was apparently the only occupant of the vehicle, which witnesses said was overturned in a swampy area.
