Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Greetings and happy Saturday! Welcome to the weekend! Thanks for checking in with the CCN Daily Weather Blog.
Here’s our updated rain-free streak:
It is VERY LIKELY that the streak comes to an end this evening or overnight tonight!
But the rain that we DO get won’t make even the slightest dent in our drought. As droughts take weeks to develop, they require long periods of soaking rain to alleviate. That’s not going to happen tonight. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight through Sunday, especially during the overnight hours tonight, and rainfall amounts could range between one-half and one inch in spots.
Except we need about 10-15 inches of rain to break the drought.
There will be SOME relief to the fire danger, but I expect that the burn bans will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
Dry weather will return Monday and Tuesday before the next frontal system moves through Wednesday into Thursday … but this one also appears to be lacking significant moisture, leaving us with just scattered shower chances.
