UPDATED. Cocaine, heroin, opiates, pills confiscated in undercover cases.
Deputies seized drugs and cash in a series of narcotics raids over the weekend.
The sheriff’s office arrested suspects in Bolton, Chadbourn and the Tabor City area on charges for possession and sale of a variety of prescription and illegal narcotics, as well as maintaining vehicles and property for drug activities.
Sheriff Jody Greene said drugs of every type were seized, as well as several firearms and $23,000 in cash.
Among those jailed were
• Barbara Lynn Sessions, 42, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamines and Xanax, drug paraphernalia. Her address was listed as 6398 Old Lake Rd., Bolton. Her bond was set at $7,500.
• Kelly Jamar McClure, 37, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, opiates, buprenorphine, and atriphene sulfate. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond. His address was listed as 97 McDuffie Lane, Chadbourn.
• Bernard Scott, 38, 1830 Will Inman Rd., Tabor City, charged with trafficking in opiates, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver oxycodone, heroin, cocaine, opiates, Naloxone, sublingual, and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver two pounds of marijuana. He was held under $210,000 secured bond.
• Keith Deonterrio Smith, 38, of 116 Jamaica Queens Lane, Tabor City, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, naloxone, atriphene sulfate, alprazolam, cocaine, methadone, and Subutex. His bond was set at $305,000 secured.
• Kameron Blake Quattlebaum, 21, 69 Sables Run Trail, Clarkton, possession of cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana possession, paraphernalia, $2,500 secured bond.
• Trenton Sheroid Allen, 23, 6398 Old Lake Rd., Bolton, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for drug activities, paraphernalia, resisting an officer. His bond was set at $6,500.
• Jeramie “Jermie” Jordan, 34, 966 Miller Rd., Tabor city, sale and delivery of cocaine and marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine and marijuana, and maintaining a vehicle for drug activities. Jordan’s warrants date from January, according to court documents.
Greene noted that much of the haul, outside of the two pounds of marijuana, was composed of a variety of prescription and non-prescription pills.
“This is the epidemic our county,” Greene said, holding a bag of pink tablets. “Most of your other crimes can be traced back to this.”
The sheriff thanked the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the case.
Greene said that he is confident other dealers will move in to take the place of the Mollie and Iron Hill suspects arrested Friday, “but we slowed them down some.
“It never stops,” he said, “but the personnel in this sheriff’s office put a hurting on them for now. They’re still out there working, and they won’t quit. The people of our county can count on that.”
