A Whiteville Wolfpack JV football player has been identified as the victim of a hit and run in Bladen County. Whiteville Police have charged a woman with misdemeanor assault on a child after a July 1 incident. Warrants show Jennifer Ashley McKay, 39, of 209 Oliver St., Whiteville, was arrested on a single charge of misdemeanor assault. Jail records show she was released on a $2,500 secured bond. McKay is alleged to have grabbed an eight-year-old by the hair and repeatedly struck the child in the face.
