State and local officials have ordered a burn ban for all of North Carolina as of 6 p.m. today (Saturday). All outdoor burning is prohibited until drought conditions improve. Citizen complaints about drug activity in the Clarendon community prompted more patrols by the sheriff’s office, and resulted in a cocaine arrest Saturday. Kenneth Allen Harley jr., 36, of 315 Grist Rd., Chadbourn, was held under a $5,000 secured bond.
