A teenager could face charges after she allegedly assaulted a woman during a car crash Aug. 14.
The sheriff’s office reported that Erica Hinz, 26, was involved in a collision in the area of 1767 Sam Potts Highway around 9:48 p.m.
Hinz was in her vehicle when she was approached by the teenager, who was a bystander. The teen demanded Hinz exit her vehicle, and when she did, the girl allegedly attacked Hinz. The victim sustained injuries to her head and body after she was punched and kicked. The sheriff’s office reported that the suspect also took the victim’s phone and stomped on it.
Hinz was transported to Columbus Regional for her injuries. Authorities are seeking a juvenile petition against the suspect.
