Dead tags caused a traffic stop that resulted in a brief chase and a collision Tuesday, according to the Chadbourn Police Department.
Gregory Sean Fray was charged with fleeing to elude arrest, assault on a government official, damage to property, and driving while license revoked. He was released under a secured bond.
Fray was allegedly driving a car with out of date tags when a CPD officer attempted to perform a traffic stop. The suspect reportedly stopped in the middle of the road after he was told to pull to the side, CPD said. Fray then sped away from the scene.
Fray came to a stop after colliding with a pole, CPD said, and was surrounded by officers. He then allegedly backed his car into a patrol vehicle before being taken into custody.
