The Lake Waccamaw man who ran into a pole trying to avoid arrest is back in jail.
Henry Charles Brandt, 33, was charged with felony possession of both prescription narcotics and methamphetamine, simple possession of prescription pills and suboxone strips, drug paraphernalia, and crack cocaine, according to jail records. His bond was set at $13,500. Brandt’s address was listed as 1032 Bella Coola Rd., Lake Waccamaw.
Brandt was arrested after a traffic stop near Flynn Cemetery Road on Sam Potts Highway on Tuesday shortly before 9 p.m., according to the report. A search of the vehicle revealed Suboxone strips, Buprenorphine strips, digital scales, Diazopram tablets, a Suboxone tablet, an amphetamine tablet, drug paraphernalia, and a “white rock like” substance.
His vehicle was towed and Brandt was taken into custody.
Brandt was currently out on bond on unrelated drug charges. He arrested Dec. 8 when a deputy spotted him and another man, Joe Allen Formyduval, near the Holiday Motel at Whiteville. The deputy knew Brandt had an outstanding warrant from a Thanksgiving weekend narcotics roundup, and initiated a traffic stop.
Brandt allegedly jumped from the vehicle and ran, but while he was fleeing, he ran headlong into a steel pole. Both Brandt and Forymduval were charged in the case.
