Whiteville’s curbside trash service will be receiving a makeover starting June 22.
The city has switched from Waste Management to Green for Life as its solid waste contractor. GFL will be replacing all carts starting June 22.
The carts will be switched out on the normal day of service, according to an announcement by the city. The Waste Management containers are green, and the new containers are black and green.
The city said the transition will take some extra time, and customers are urged to have their carts at the curb on pickup day. Handicapped pickups will be removed by the contractor.
In a memo to the city council, City Manager Darren Currie said commercial containers will also be switched out in the coming weeks.
