High school graduation is a special time in a youngster’s life, but the achievement is even more notable since the Covid pandemic.
To mark the occasion at Thomas Academy, Elizabethtown-based pastor Jason Williams will be the guest speaker at the ceremony set for June 11 at the Leamon Rogers Memorial Chapel on the campus of the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina. The event will begin at 10 a.m., and the public is invited to join in on the celebration of the 18 students who make up the 2022 graduating class.
Williams is extremely active in the Bladen County area. He has founded many four community organizations: Bladen County Released Time, Foundation Bible Church, Bladen Disaster Recovery Team, and Dream Works Bladen.
“My goal and heart are to help as many people in need reach their goals through the love and power of Jesus Christ,” said Williams.
Dr. Cathy Ganz, principal for Thomas Academy, feels that Williams can offer worthwhile advice for the kids as they move forward into the future.
“They have navigated a global pandemic and through to earn a high school diploma. I am grateful that Pastor Williams will be able to share his insights with them as they prepare for the next chapter,” expressed Ganz.
The graduation will also include senior remembrances and awarding of diplomas. For more information about the ceremony or to learn more about the academy’s education program, please contact Ganz at 910.646.2237. You can also send her an email at cathy.ganz@thomasacademync.org.
