Police are investigating a homicide in Whiteville.
Major William Hinz of the Whiteville Police said the call went out around 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
A white male was reported shot on Ward Street, off Martin Luther King Avenue. He was transported by Whiteville Rescue to Columbus Regional, where he was pronounced dead.
An incident bulletin from the Whiteville Police Monday morning identified the dead man as Michael Scott Jordan, 53.
The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Whiteville Police with the case.
