A small gun

The man found dead at a Cemetery Road home Friday morning was apparently murdered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Tracey Taylor, whose age was not listed, was found dead by a deputy investigating a shots fired call with a possible victim, the report said. Deputies were dispatched to 805 Cemetery Rd., Riegelwood at 6:32 a.m. The 911 caller reported someone had been shot at the home.

No additional details were released, but the killing is being investigated by the sheriff’s office as a homicide.

The death was the tenth overall in the county this year, including four in the city of Whiteville.
