Child abuse charges were filed against a Clarendon woman after a girl was burned trying to prepare a meal.
Donna McCutchen, 34, of 1904 Vinegar Hill Rd., Clarendon, was held under a $5,000 secured bond on two counts of misdemeanor child abuse., according to detention center reports.
The sheriff’s office reported that McCutchen is alleged to have left two girls, ages 9 and 11, alone “for an unknown period of time,” according to the warrant. On Aug. 22, the younger girl was burned while trying to prepare food, the warrant said. The injuries were serious, according to the warrant. The warrant did not say how long the children were unsupervised.
