Ron Sasser has been named the new chief of Lake Waccamaw Fire and Rescue.
The new chief was sworn in this morning, with his father, Retired Superior Court Judge Douglas Sasser, administering the oath. His mother Vickie Sasser held the family Bible.
Sasser has been a volunteer firefighter since he was a teenager, and most recently was a fulltime firefighter and EMT.
