Jeremiah Javonte Robinson turned 18 Monday, and was charged as an adult in the 2022 murder of Caron Robinson in Whiteville.
Whiteville Police said Caron Robinson, 32, was found on West Burkhead Street on Sept. 5, 2022. Officers were responding to a shots fired call in the area at 12:35 p.m. Robinson was found lying in the roadway, and transported to Columbus regional. He died a short time later.
Jeremiah Robinson was arrested just after the shooting, but since he was 17 at the time, he was detained as a juvenile.
Jeremiah Robinson was transferred from the Brunswick County juvenile holding facility to Columbus County Monday morning, and booked just after 9 a.m. His address was listed as 745 W. Burkhead Street, Whiteville.
Bond was set at $150,000 secured, pending an initial appearance in Superior Court.
