Cory McDougal was indicted for involuntary manslaughter by a grand jury Thursday .
McDougal, 51 struck and killed Connell Faulk on South Wilkes Street on June 16, 2022, according to Chadbourn Police. McDougal fled the scene of the crash and was arrested for fleeing a fatal crash.
Faulk, 47, was walking on South Wilkes Street when he was struck and killed.
McDougal was initially released on a $25,000 secured bond. That bond was raised to $100,000 after Thursday’s indictment.
His address was listed as 120 Wilkes St., Chadbourn.
Chadbourn Police Sgt. T.J. Lovette investigated the case.
